Will I Make It In Time To Decorate for the Fall Season?

I truly cannot decide if I want to decorate our new home for the fall/Halloween season. We have a beautiful front porch that deserves some oddly-shaped pumpkins and colorful mums, maybe even a scarecrow or two. If I do decide to decorate, there will be nothing too scary!

One of our neighbors has a tree with leaves that have already turned a bright red orange and most of the leaves have fallen to the ground. I really want to walk over and take a bunch and mod podge them onto white pumpkins. If they are on the ground, does that make them free or is that stealing since it's on their property? I don't want to make a bad impression on our neighbors...

Here are some of the photos I have come across that inspire me to decorate.

Outdoor pumpkin decor
Martha Stewart
I love the idea of using a pumpkin as a planter and putting fall color plants inside. This idea from Martha Stewart takes it one step further by adding some additional decoration.

Pottery Barn

I love the mixed use of decorations that Pottery Barn displays along side their lighted pumpkins made of sustainable rattan.
Stone Gable Blog
Notice the mini pumpkins above the door in each window! I wish my door was framed that way so I could do this.

Morning Must Have: L'Oreal Paris BB Cream

First I want to start off by talking about one of my favorite new products... L'Oreal Paris BB Cream!

  • Face - L'Oreal Paris - BB Cream

  • I started using this cream about a month ago, maybe less, but it has become my must use morning product. I realized the skin on my face had some damage from this past summer mainly due to a lack of SPF (I know, stupid mistake). Before purchasing, I watched a couple of videos and did lots of research to see whether I wanted a BB cream or a CC Cream and which brand. I chose this product because it had the best reviews and exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want a product that would add color to my face, some of the BB creams or CC creams offer that.  This cream is available in four different complexions, I chose fair since I am a pale kid.

What other creams have you used? Any suggestions, leave a comment :-)

Burgundy and Blue Inspired for the Fall

I love TV and especially my guilty pleasure shows that make it impossible for my boyfriend to fall asleep at night because of all the drama! So of course I have to tune in to the Emmy Awards. Last night as I watched the Red Carpet Preshow on E! I fell in love with Kaley Cuoco's Burgundy Vera Wang dress and Allison William's Blue Ralph Lauren dress.

I know Allison has been voted worst dress according to some, but did anyone see Anna Farris? These two colors are my Fall shopping inspiration. What dress did you guys love from last night's award show?

A Visit to Shrewsbury and Morningstar Markets

This past weekend, my boyfriend and I did a lot of running around trying to prepare for our new home. We woke up Saturday and stopped at a couple of yard sales in York County. Sadly we didn't find anything amazing. We then drove to Shrewsbury, which is pretty close to the PA/MD Border and went to the Markets at Shrewsbury. On Sunday we ended up at an another Outdoor Market called the Morningstar Marketplace.  This place I am very excited to have visited because now I know where to pick up affordable produce. It was a great weekend to get out and enjoy the end of Summer / beginning of Fall.

Live in the York/Lancaster/Baltimore area? Let me know what other markets I should check out!

Is it true? Will I really be a homeowner in one week?

Next Wednesday, my boyfriend and I will officially be homeowners. So today I am starting this blog that will chronicle our journey through decorating and enjoying life in our new home on Cherimoya Street.  How awesome is that name? Coming from a girl that lived on Beach Ave. for pretty much the entirety of her life, I think it's so awesome that I named my new blog after it. I hope you guys stick around and see all that I (my boyfriend and I) will be up to.
